Gardening, chitter chatter and a new Cruise Kit by Scrapbookingdom and Freebie

Last year I discovered a method of gardening called Straw Bale Gardening.  Well, let me tell you, it seemed very strange to me, but intrigued me at the same time.  I haven't planted a traditional garden in several years.  Once I retired I had the time to dedicate to things I had long ago let go of.  I signed up for the Master Gardening Class in 2014.  I completed and passed the course.  I found it to be extremely interesting and enlightening.  I immediately volunteered for every possible opportunity to complete my volunteer responsibilities as quickly as possible.  In doing so I met lots of new people, attended lots of events and learned lots of new tips and tricks.  I highly recommend the Master Gardener Program to anyone who loves to grow.  Through these new adventures I ran across articles about Straw Bale Gardening.

My family thought I had gone senile, lol.  I started my seeds inside.  I have never done that before.  I so enjoyed this process.  I purchased the items I needed to make my straw bale garden.  I started with ten bales.  I prepared my spot, set up the bales, added the trellis and waited for the right time to start.  My neighbors were curious about what on earth I was doing.  I explained it to them and they eagerly watched as time went by.

Here is my original setup with the ten bales. This was before I put up the trellis.

Here is a picture after I added the trellis and added two additional bales for tomatoes.  By this time I have planted the bales and discovered I did not have enough room to plant everything I had grown from seeds.

Here are some pictures well into the season.  Guess what?  Straw Bale Gardening works and I am hooked.  It is the easiest and most successful garden I have ever planted.

I am doing a larger garden this year!

Now on to scrapping!
